Highlighter Heaven | Favourites, Reviews & Swatches

This post has been on my to-do list for quite some time, so today is the day! I discovered highlighters in the last couple of months and I am obsessed.. I mean, who wants to glow like J-Lo right? I sure do! I didn’t want to overwhelm you with lots of different highlighters and I didn’t want this post to take three years to read… So I have picked my favourite and fabulous four to show you, including reviews on each and swatches! Two of which are in palettes, which are still all really cheap and accessible! I was trying to be fair when choosing my favourites, so I have gone with two subtle and natural shades, and two in your face dramatic shades..

 Maybelline Master Sculpt Contour Palette

So this highlighter comes in a contour duo. You get more of the contour shade than the highlighter, but it doesn’t mean that the highlighter isn’t gorgeous! It is a lovely subtle highlight, for an everyday look which I love! It is a little powdery, but it is something that I can look beyond because it is a gorgeous pearly white colour and gives the nicest subtle glow to your cheekbones. Definitely one of my favourites!

Sleek Makeup Contour Kit

This again comes in a contour duo. This is probably my most used highlight as it is gorgeous for pale skin. It looks like a very peachy pink highlight, but when applied softly it gives such a subtle gorgeous glow with a skintoned shimmer in it. It is one of my most used everyday highlights and it can easily be built up to be a dramatic highlight for a night appropiate look! Plus this is really pigmented, so a little goes a very long way.

Makeup Acadamy Undress Your Skin Highlighter

As you might know, I bought this highlighter this month so I haven’t owned it very long at all. I just had to add it into this post however as it is so bloody lovely! It is a very pink highlight, so it works lovely with pink under toned skin, and it is quite dramatic! This can easily be very lightly applied to create a more natural look, but it is so gorgeous with dramatic night time makeup. Plus, this stuff can reflect some light that’s for sure, if this doesn’t make your cheekbones pop I don’t know what will! It has a lovely consistency, it is not too powdery and it is very sturdy. I have dropped this thing loads and it’s still hanging in there! I am now dying to try the other highlighters from MUA and I would highly recommend these to anyone! It is just the perfect little highlighter, and for how much I have used it.. it still looks brand new. What more can you ask for?

Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter

So I think I left the best until last, I mentioned this is my last ‘Today’s Makeup Look‘ and dedicated a whole paragraph to it. It is my current favourite highlighter, and I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a dramatic, in your face, bold highlight! Because that is exactly what it does… This stuff is so pigmented, and who you not need a lot of it! The only problem is that it can easily be overdone, a little bit goes an extremely long way. It is a gorgeous pearly white highlight with a strong gold duo tone. Perfect for night looks, when you want to go that extra mile and really make your face glow and pop! I don’t know whether it’s because it is baked or not, but it has quite a powdery consistency, which I am fine with! This just means that you have to be careful when applying. But this product gets a 10/10 from me, It is too gorgeous not to like! Because it is so bold I do not use this everyday, at the moment I am using the MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighter every singe day because that is also a gorgeous highlighter & one of my other favourites, but this is my go to night time look highlighter!

So these are some swatches of all four, just so you can see how pretty they are. All swatches are one swipe of product :)

What are your favourite highlighters? Have you tried any of the ones mentioned above? Please let me know, I would love to know your thoughts.

Until next time,
B xoxo
