Beauty at it’s best.. what is beauty at it’s best? Is it a full face of makeup or no makeup at all? There are so many different meanings behind beauty that who honestly knows? The truth is, beauty means different things to every single different person. I like to think that what I am creating here is a beauty blog. My space is fulled with makeup related posts, products and looks as it’s what I am passionate about. It’s what I love. But that doesn’t mean I think that makeup is beauty at it’s best. No matter how much I do love a bit of slap! So here I present to you, what I feel are the best parts of beauty.
Beauty to me..
As lovely as a Kimmy K contour is, or a Jacklyn Hill smokey eye can be.. Nothing is more beautiful than somebody who is comfortable in their own skin. It starts from the inside! That is beauty for me, plain and simple. My number one quote is ‘No amount of makeup can mask an ugly heart’ by Kevin Aucoin. If you would have noticed I changed up the ‘mask’ for ‘conceal’ in my tagline for the extra ‘pun’thing else! i’m on a roll… But it’s a quote I believe in. Being your natural self is just as beautiful as being covered in makeup right? That’s what I like to tell myself!
Help your inner beauty shine through..
Whenever I say to myself ‘let’s go natural today’, it always ends the same.. ‘oh a little bit more mascara here’, ‘a bright lip won’t hurt’, ‘maybe a slight contour’.. and an hour later I am fully covered with my favourite products and there’s nothing ‘natural’ about it. Saying this, I do have my natural days. Usually when I’m working or I simply cannot be bothered! Natural makeup is just as gorgeous as full glam makeup after all! I’ve got some tips for you guys on how I achieve a more natural look! You ready?
My favourite way to achieve healthy looking skin is by using a tinted moisturizer! It’s skin care & coverage in one! Do you need more?! If you don’t own a tinted moisturiser at home, but you would like one, it is so easy to create one yourself! All you need is a moisturiser of your choice, and some concealer. I use the Garnier Moisture Match Illuminating Light Lotion and my Max Factor Under Eye Concealer. I mix them together on the back of my hand, and apply it all over my face. So why not save yourself some money by completing this quick step! Easy peasy! If your dry like me, then the Garnier moisturiser is amazing to achieve that dewy look! If you are oily then by all means go and powder like you normally would, the Max Factor Creme Puff Pressed Powder is my current love!
My favourite natural look is just a slight application of blush to your cheeks to give a bit of colour. I like using a blush with a slight sheen to it, so that it gives you a natural glow. Blushes great for this include Max Factor Creme Puff Blushes or Makeup Academy Blushers as many have a lovely light sheen to them! Creating a gorgeous glow.
I understand that if you are like myself, and have very uneven eyebrows, then you may feel that you need to go in and sculpt them out. That’s fine, you do you! If not a great little tip would be o just use a brow mascara such as the Maybelline Brow Drama to hold your brows in place and slightly thicken them!
When I am going for a more natural look, I will simply just apply mascara to open the eyes and look more awake. Curling your lashes will also give you that extra volume if you have very short lashes. My newest mascara and one that I am loving is the Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara. It gives my lashes amazing length!
A nude lips is always gorgeous for a natural look. But if you want a little bit more gloss and colour then I would recommend the Makeup Academy Out There Plumping Lipgloss in the colour Peach Shimmer. It’s a lovely toned down peachy pink that ties the whole look together.
So that is my favourite ‘natural’ makeup look.
What is your idea of beauty at its best? How are your natural looks achieved? I’d love to know your tips and tricks!
