Hello my lovelies! Today’s post will be a little bit different as I had a model! My boyfriends sister/one of my closest friends, Chelsea, asked me if I would do her makeup. Of course I said yes… So I created this look for her! I had so much fun as this was the first time I have done anybodies makeup! I will admit, I felt a little out of place at first as I didn’t want to hurt her or pull out her piercings, that would be awkward… But once I started, I got right into it!
So I started by cleansing her face using the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. I then went in and moisturised using my Nspa Ultra Hydrate Cream. As Chelsea has the complete opposite skin type to me, I used my Rimmel Stay Matte Primer as she has oily skin, and applied it all over her face concentrating the majority of the product in the t zone.
Chelsea and I are very pale, so I used my Max Factor Lasting Performance Foundation (Fair) and stippled it into her skin using a Real Techniques Stippling Brush. (Quick disclaimer that all brushes were cleaned before and after to avoid transferring bacteria! You know what I am like!)
I then went in with concealer! I used my Mac Pro Longwear Concealer under her eyes, around the nose, the chin and forehead. I also went over any little blemishes and blended it out with a little makeup sponge.
To set everything in place I used my Rimmel Stay Matte Translucent Pressed Powder and really made sure that everything was set to avoid movement!
You guys know I love a cheeky contour! For this I obviously used my Makeup Revolution Mono Eyeshadow – Mocha Love as it is my number one go-to at the moment! I used my Real Techniques Contour Brush to sculpt the cheekbones, the forehead, the jawline and the bottom lip. I kept the contour quite soft as I wanted the eyes to be the focus.
I wanted to use a really nice sheen on Chelsea’s cheeks, so I used my Essence Silky Touch Blush (Babydoll) to give a lovely glow to her cheeks, then I topped it off with the highlighter from my Maybelline Master Sculpt as it is so natural and gorgeous! I applied the highlighter to the tops of her cheekbones, really bringing it down onto the apples of her cheeks. I also applied it to the brow bone, tip of the nose, cupids bow and the tip of the chin.
Chelsea already has really thick brows, we plucked out the stray hairs around the edges and then just ever so slightly filled in any sparse areas, mainly towards the tail. For this I used the Maybelline Brow Satin (Dark Brown) and finished off with the Maybelline Brow Drama Mascara.
The eyes were my favourite thing about this look! Chelsea told me I could do what I liked, but she wanted her eyes to be smokey! Inner Jaclyn appears.. YAAAAS! I wanted to go for a glamorous look. I decided on a gold smokey eye. I used two palettes. The W7 In The Buff & In The Nude palettes. I started with the ‘In The Nude’ palette and applied all three matte shades. First I added Latte all over the eye to make everything blend seamlessly. Then I started with my first transition shade, Marilyn. A really gorgeous light pink. I gradually darkened up the crease using Alice and was pulling the colour up to act as a wing.
I then moved on to the ‘In The Buff’ palette and went straight in with Chocolate. I focused this colour on the outer corner of the crease, pulling the colour down onto the lid. For the gold shades I used a mix of Camel and Earth. One is as gold as gold can be, and the other is slightly more brown toned gold. Together they made the perfect shade. So sparkly! I made sure to apply this only to the lid, and blend out any harsh lines.
I then went on to apply an extremely fine line of Rimmel Scandal Eyes Gel Liner to create a more fuller lash line. I slightly extended the liner to create the illusion of bigger and more open eyes. I didn’t go full blow wing as I wanted the eye shadows to be the star of the show. I then used my Rimmel Black Eyeliner to the upper waterline, and ran it through her upper lashes. These two together created a much fuller lash effect.
For the lower lash line I used a mix of Chocolate and Earth. I then finished off the eyes with a pop of Sand on the inner corners.
Lastly for the eyes, I curled her eye lashes… She must really trust me! I then applied Mac Flash Lash Extreme Black Mascara and then added a coat of George Curl ‘Em Mascara to create lovely full lashes!
Last by not least! Lips! I only used one product which was my Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner – 018 Addiction which to this day is still one of my favourite lip liners as it is so bloody gorgeous. It is very much a purple toned pink and I thought it would compliment her eyes well.
So this is the finished look!
I hope you all enjoyed, please tell me what you think! Luckily Chels was happy with it so I couldn’t of done too bad of a job hehe!
Until next time my loves,
