Nyx HD Concealer Review

Hello my loves!

As I have mentioned before, I have a tonne of reviews I have planned and little time to actually do them. I decided to tick off another box on my review list, and let me tell you..this one is a goodie! Today I am going to be reviewing the Nyx HD Concealer and you may have noticed this concealer pop up quite a bit recently, and I’m about the tell you why!

(P.s. Tomorrow I am going away for a week. We are going on our annual camping trip so I won’t be as active replying to comments etc. I have however written a few posts and scheduled them for different times throughout the week so I don’t fall behind! I hope you enjoy them, and I can’t wait to get home Friday and return to my little bubble!)

Nyx describe their concealer on their website as…

This lightweight cover-up obscures imperfections, discoloration and under eye circles without ever looking cakey or obvious. Little wonder the Concealer Wand is one of our best-sellers. The concentrated emollient-rich formula goes on like a dream and creates medium to heavy coverage.

Packaging

I really like the packaging on this concealer. There is nothing that makes it really stand out from any other concealer, but it is just so simple and to the point. I love the fact that this concealer has a wand, which makes application super easy. Besides, I love anything that has black packaging as I just find it looks really sleek and pretty. It is also recyclable, Nyx really know how to keep me happy!

Personal Opinion

I am in love with this concealer. I think everything that Nyx have stated is true. This concealer is super lightweight under my eyes and the coverage literally covers everything! I have the shade CW 01 Porcelain. It is the lightest shade in the selection and is perfect for my skin tone. I have mentioned before on how this concealer looks quite peach, but once you blend it out it brightens up and literally matches my skin perfectly, whilst adding a bit of brightness.

When I apply this concealer, I apply it with a dry beauty blender, because it just doesn’t get cakey! and I am too lazy to go to the bathroom to dampen it.. hehe. I also have to have a little rave about the fact that this concealer is an emollient! YES! It softens my under eyes and leaves them feeling so soft and hydrated. I would say that this concealer is pretty full coverage, but it can be sheered out by using a damp beauty blender of course! I just love this concealer. It is such a nice consistency, it blends like a dream and it doesn’t crease on me! It is just lovely. Not to mention it is great for everyday wear or more glamorous looks! I feel like I should mention also, that this concealer is cruelty-free! This is a major point for some people, and it just makes this concealer even better! I have got to admit, I am no good at researching my makeup to see if they are cruelty free, it is really bad of me, but this concealer has it written clear as day on the packaging which I just love!

For the purpose of this post, I have taken a photo of my concealer when I applied it at 11am, and then when I removed it at 1am, just so you can see how it holds up. You will have to excuse the bits of mascara under my eyes as I stupidly rubbed them before the photo! As you can see, I had been wearing this concealer for over 12 hours, and I don’t think it’s holding up too bad! A little bit of wear, but i’ve seen much worse over twelve hour periods!

Availability

As far as I am aware, Nyx products are only sold in the US. Unless you go online that is. I live in the UK so it is pretty hard for me to get hold of it. I either have to go through the NYX website, or I grab myself a bargain of eBay. eBay is where you will find me usually.. of course, I then have to wait for postage etc. But this concealer is worth it. If you are from the US I am sure you will have no problems picking this little baby up!

Price

This concealer goes for $5 on the NYX website, but if you go by eBay the prices vary. I think I got mine for £4. It is super affordable, and the quality is so worth it.

Colour Range

These concealers are stocked in 11 different colours. What I love about these are that not only do you get your regular skin tone shades, but you also get lavender, green and yellow shades. The lavender is for sallow skin, so very yellow toned skin types, the green is for redness and the yellow is for dark circles or any kind of darkness. Like I mentioned, I am the lightest shade which can be a little misleading.

When I first tried this out I found it to be very peach in colour. I have swatched this for you. I wasn’t blending it out enough and I was applying it quite heavily. Once you really blend it out however, you can see how much it lightens up. I think this is the main thing I love about this concealer. Plus you can really see how full coverage it is! I even took a photo of my taking off my makeup, so you can see the coverage for yourself!

So that my loves is the Nyx HD Concealer. A winner for me, and my current go-to. Would I buy it again? Over and over! Would I recommend it? Over and over. It is a lovely, affordable concealer and I really wanted to share this with you. I hope you enjoyed!

Until next time my loves,
123xoxo
