The Blogger’s Block Survival Guide

Welcome back my loves…

I have been trying so hard recently to break my bloggers block and find inspiration for some top notch blog posts for you guys. I have nothing.. well, I had nothing. I think it’s fair to say that everyone suffers from a little bit of bloggers block every once in a while. It’s inevitable. If you’re wondering what the symptoms are? They include a lot of hair pulling, frustrated screams and a blank little brain. I recently suffered yet again with this terrible condition where the words just won’t flow and the ideas have literally escaped my mind. I searched post after post for ideas on how to break my bloggers block, I looked high and low for the cure to this very annoying situation. Then it clicked! Finally! I have sat down and taken my time to go through other’s ideas on how to get myself back in the blogging game and I have put them to the test. What really works? Of course, everyone is different, so it may not work for everyone.. but it’s worth a shot! I finally found inspiration that was sat in front of me all along, why don’t I share my opinion on how to overcome bloggers block? So here it is… enjoy!

Have A Break.. Have A KitKat?

 take a break

I’m sorry.. I had to, I love a good KitKat! Plus, if stuffing your face with mountains of chocolate is what works for you.. do it! I certainly do. What ever it is that relaxes you and takes your mind off your blog for a little while.. do it. Sitting in front of a computer screen for hours trying to force the ideas out will only make things worse. Sit back, breathe and walk away from that damn computer screen. Make yourself a cuppa, watch your guilty pleasure whether it be that missed episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians or an innocent Disney film. Visit some family members or finish that crossword puzzle you’ve been neglecting for the last couple of days and when you’re ready, your blog will be waiting.

Go For A Walk..

go for a walk

Or a run, a prance, skip or why not follow that yellow brick road? Believe it or not, the simplest things such as a walk can spark inspiration. Especially if you are like me and you don’t often treat yourself to a refreshing walk. It gives you a chance to get out of the house, connect with the world outside of those same old four walls and get those brainwaves flowing again.

Change Your Blogging Environment

When you are sat in one place all of the time of course it will be hard to spark some new and original ideas. Branch out, switch things up. Why not go to a friends house? A relatives house? Or even just a different room in your own home. Changing your environment can get you thinking differently. Why not visit a local cafe and order your favourite light bite, whilst taking a little scroll through your pinterest feed? Changing your blogging environment can help break that dreaded block.

Stock Up Your Handbag

It is always best to be prepared for when those great ideas pop into your mind. And they will eventually! By carrying a simple notebook and pen with you wherever you may go, it will come in handy to jot down any of those brilliant ideas that come to you. Plus, carrying these simple items are not going to take up to much room in your handbag… even better!

Be Inspired By Fellow Bloggers

I think the blogging community is a great thing. It will be a great thing for you too. Bloggers inspire each other. Just because you have a bit of bloggers block, it doesn’t mean everyone else will. Of course, I am not saying you should copy or try to impersonate another blogger, the best thing about your blog is that it is yours. A representation of yourself. But by reading other posts and seeing what other people’s inspiration is it can help spark some of your own. Take inspiration from your favourite blogs, see what ideas people have and make them your own. I often forget that other bloggers are great inspirations, but it is a fact and a good one at that!

Write A Tag Post

Tags are everywhere whether it is on YouTube or in the blogging community. These light hearted posts are perfect for when your mind isn’t coming up with anything. It is simply answering questions, plus everyone gets to know you a little better! There are so many tags available out there so you can pick one that fits with the genre of your blog or pick a personal one which gives us readers a chance to learn a little bit about you. Answering questions… that is all!

So my loves, these are my favourite tips for battling the bloggers block. I hope you enjoyed and found this helpful!

Until next time,
