Hello my loves!
I am finally getting the chance to sit down and show you my birthday makeup! I love looking at other people’s birthday makeup as it’s the one day that it’s okay to be a little over the top and wear something that makes you feel good! This look was inspired by Mannymua. I was watching some of his video’s on YouTube, and he was wearing this killer smokey liner with a really deep lip. It was amazing! As I was scrolling down his channel I then saw he had done a whole tutorial on that exact look. What I love about this liner is that even if you have hooded eyes, it still looks flattering. Whenever I do a regular winged liner it just looks lost and broken under my hood, whereas smoking the top of the liner out looks so much more flattering and subtle. So let’s get into my birthday makeup look!
Some of the steps I took in achieving my base really aren’t necessary, but sometimes it’s fun to add layers so that is exactly what I done. I started with a little bit of contouring and highlighting, underneath my foundation! I often watch Wayne Goss use this technique and I really like it. I started by using my Max Factor Pan Stik to contour my cheekbones, forehead and a little under my lip. I didn’t blend this out too much, but I just smudged the edges in. I then took my Collection Speedy Highlighter Stick and applied this on my cheekbones, cupids bow, nose and above the brow for that ‘glowing from within’ effect.
Next up was foundation! You all know that I love my Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation so of course that is what I used! I tapped this over my contour and highlight using my RT complexion sponge, and blended it down my neck a little bit. Mac Pro Longwear Concealer was used sparingly under my eyes, for a more fresh and awake appearance. I didn’t get barely any sleep the night before as soon as it turned 7am my eyes shot open. I don’t know why this happened but my eyes were super dark and puffy! I have fell in love with this concealer all over again, but I don’t use it how I use my other concealers. With my other concealers I bring it all the way down the side of my nose in a triangle shape, but this one is only really needed directly under my eyes and on my eye lids.
I set everything in place with that same palette that was in my favourites! As you can see I have now hit pan on my favourite highlighting shade. Why god why?! I also set the tzone and contoured over my original contour with the lightest contour shade. As I was feeling rather matte after all this, I then went ahead with my Essence Silky Touch Blush. I have talked about these blushes before as they are perfect for dry skin and giving a natural, healthy glow. They aren’t super sparkly either which is great! I then also popped on a little of my Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter at the very top points of my cheekbones for some further glow. Gotta love that glow!
For my smokey liner, I started with the Makeup Revolution Ultra Matte Palette. Talking the fourth row in, I added one by one against my lash line for a little bit of definition. I also took that lightest shade from the same row and applied it lightly in my non-existent crease!
I then went and applied my liner. For this I used my Maybelline Master Precise Eye Liner. I am not a huge fan of this liner but it was the nearest thing to me, and I was in a bit of a rush! I drew and extremely thin line around my lashes and then winded it out on the outer corner. Taking the deepest brown shade from the palette, I started to smoke the top of the liner out, all the way along. I then took the black shade and smoked out the outer wing further. I took a little bit of that deep brown shade under my lower lash line too.
After I curled my lashes, I took some of the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Kohl Kajal Nude Liner.. which is a mouthful! I applied this to my lower waterline and went in with mascara. I used the Seventeen Falsifeye Mascara as I have really been liking this mascara. I bought it for my birthday haul, and have been using it ever since!
To finish of the eyes I ran a little bit of the Sleek Brow Stylist through my brows. I have been loving this product! It feels rather waxy, but for me that is good as I have a scar in my brow and wax is the best thing for that. I am also loving using a lighter product on my brows for a more natural effect.
Finally for my lipstick. I paired my Mac Velvet Teddy with my MUA Caramel Nougat Lip Liner. I am shocked at how similar these two are in colour. Velvet teddy is slightly darker, but all in all, this could end up being a colour dupe!
There we have it folks! Everything I used to achieve this look. I hope you enjoyed and until next time my loves,
