My Everyday Affordable Go-To Glam Makeup Look

What a title hey! If you may or may not have noticed, this title is very similar to a certain Mrs Jaclyn Hill’s most recent video. It’s no secret that Jaclyn is my queen and I worship everything she does. When this video went up it confirmed it.. we are soul sisters. Her ‘everyday go-to glam makeup’ is exactly the same as my everyday makeup except she has more high end products. I have wanted to do my everyday makeup for a while, and now seemed like the perfect time. If you have seen Jaclyn’s video (if not click here) then I will be doing the exact same look which I do everyday but it will almost be a dupes version. Baring in mind these products are not exact dupes just the more affordable products that I personally use to achieve the same look. This may seem like a lot of makeup for day to day wear, but because I am so comfortable in my routine, it really doesn’t take me so long. There are so many steps that can be missed out but after all this is my everyday glam look, so why not go that little bit further. Want to know how I create that gorgeous look that my soul sister and I wear on a daily basis? Take a look…

As always, I like to start off with my base. I wanted to go quite in depth in this post as I find my other makeup looks are so snappy and it’s always nice or boring to talk through why I take these steps. Be prepared for one long ass post my loves! I always start with cleansed and moisturised skin to ensure that I don’t have any bacteria on my face that could cause break outs. On days when I am being such a good blogger I will use my Nspa Deep Cleansing Facial Wash and on days where I’m being a lazy biatch I use my Garnier Micellar Cleansing WaterSo yeah, I use my micellar water… I then go in with my moisturiser as moisturising is possibly the most important thing in my daily routine. I want to make sure my skin is fully prepped for all the products I will apply, and I want to make sure that these products will go on smoothly. For this I always use the Garnier Hydrating Day Cream as it is the nicest formula and is so soothing on the skin. It also soaks in really quick as well, which I love!

I did recently mention that my skin has changed for the first time ever, and I am now producing oil on my forehead and the bridge of my nose. As much as I love the fact that I am producing oil and that it is preserving my skin, I am now experiencing that oily effect during the day. I have started to use my Rimmel Stay Matte Primer only on the center of my forehead, my nose and also under my eyes as I have also found that out of nowhere, my concealer decides that it wants to crease for no reason. I have never had this problem before but I find applying the primer smoothes everything out and helps it not crease. I like to leave it about five minutes before I start applying makeup to ensure that everything has soaked into my skin and isn’t just sitting on top of my skin. Now all the boring stuff is out of the way let’s get into my foundation!

I. Am. In. Love. The Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Foundation is a new love of mine. Of course, being the high maintenance pain in the ass I am, I do switch it up between three foundations on a day to day basis (Dream Flawless Foundation, B. Complete Coverage Foundation and Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation). This is the foundation I find myself reaching for the most however as this paired with the primer doesn’t get me too oily throughout the day. I don’t mind a little bit of oil but I don’t want to look super shiny. I apply this with my B. Finishing Brush which is my new holy grail foundation brush and apply this all over my face. I love using my complexion sponge to apply foundation too, but it really doesn’t work with this foundation as it is so watery it just soaks it up and you end up wasting loads of product.

The next step is my favourite… concealer! Again, I switch between concealers on a day to day basis. I can’t help it okay! I find myself reaching for the Maybelline Instant Eye Eraser Concealer the most however as it is so flawless whilst being lightweight and comfortable on the skin. I apply this under my eyes, around my nose and my chin. I have stopped putting concealer on my forehead as I find it doesn’t really need it. I am loving the less is more look recently. Paha, yeah right Billie!

I then set my entire face using my Rimmel Match Perfect Loose Translucent Powder as it is such a gorgeous finely milled powder and sets everything beautifully. I don’t bake with this loose powder as I find recently, baking on my skin looks too cakey. Yes, this step is messy as hell!

Let’s get some bronze going shall we? I have been loving a mix of my Rimmel Sun Shimmer Matte Bronzer and my Makeup Acadamy Mocha Love Mono Eye Shadow to add depth and definition to my face. I don’t contour with these products as such, but I do use a nice fluffy brush and sweep them along my cheekbones sparingly and on my forehead for an almost contoured/bronzed effect.

My absolute GO TO blush at the moment are the Essence Silky Touch Blushes. I use a different colour everyday, but I love the formula and finish of these blushes. I apply these to the apples of my cheeks and then blend them into my bronzer and move onto my highlight!

I actually have been using an eye shadow to highlight recently. The Natural Collection White Opal Eye Shadow has soon become a favourite of mine. It is a white/champagne/gold which gives the most beautiful glow to your skin. It looks very white but once you apply it in small amounts it adds a really nice glow to the cheekbones. I apply this to the tops of my cheekbones, the tip of my nose and the cupids bow to also add some definition and the most natural *cough cough* beam of light that could reflect your face in it, if you so wish.

For my eye shadows I use an old love of mine. The Makeup Revolution Flawless Matte Palette. This palette has a range of 32 matte eye shadows. What more do you need? I like to keep my eyes matte for everyday wear and I also love to go warm toned. If you have watched Jaclyn’s video, you probably guessed that by now.

Orange can be a bit of a scary/intimidating colour, but I use a mix of Rust and Burnt as my ‘transition shades’. I apply this very lightly in the crease and blend it pretty much everywhere. This adds the warmth to the other shadows and also orange really compliments my blue eyes. I also deepen up the orange shade in my outer corner (don’t worry, you barely see it once i’m done!).

I then take a mix of Leather and Olden and start applying this very low down in the crease, underneath the orange. Once I have laid down the majority of the colour, I blend it up into the orange and buff it into the crease until it is blended to perfection. The orange shades add warmth to the light browns and it comes together really nicely.

Finally I take a little bit of Earth, a rich chocolate brown, and blend that into the outer corner. I also like to take this lightly on my lower lash line, in the outer quarter of my eye. I don’t like to add too much depth for everyday wear, but just a little something. I then finish my eye shadows with the lightest shade for my inner corner and brow bone highlights.

I like to add a light eye liner on my water line. I love to use the Rimmel White Eyeliner for this as it is white, and I love the contrast to the deep warm browns. It also makes the eyes appear larger and makes any eye look much more day time appropriate. I would normally use my Nude liner by Rimmel, but that little guy has dissapeared. My poor baby.

For my eye lashes, I have a whole new routine which I am loving! It all starts with curling the lashes. This is something I do on a daily basis, no matter what eye look I am going for. It opens up the eyes and gives your mascara a much better finish. I recently got a sample of the Benefit They’re Real Tinted Primer. Basically, this is a brown tinted mascara that you use by itself or before your mascara to add length and that extra umph to your lashes. When I first heard about this primer I thought it was a scam. Why buy a primer when you can just layer up your original mascara? I now understand that this guy gives the most separated lashes, but adds length and a little bit of thickness to your original lashes. It is giving the illusion of your natural lashes but better so that when you apply your mascara, the effects are more intense. Unlike when you would layer your original mascara, this guy doesn’t clump and doesn’t add volume which means that when you do come round to applying your mascara, it applies evenly and beautifully but it’s just gives more length and fluttery lashes. That’s the only way I can describe it. I am in love with this and I have been using it daily underneath my Max Factor Calorie 2000 Mascara. These two together are a match made in heaven!

I am quite lazy when it comes to brows and recently I just can’t be bothered. I have found the easiest brow product and quickest to use is my Soap & Glory Brow Archery Pencil. I find myself going back to this one the most, as my brows are awkward so I don’t like spending too much time on them. That’s when it all goes wrong! I simply brush through my brows then fill in the gaps with hair like strokes. It usually looks blatantly drawn on, but at least my brows are better than they were before I guess!

Finally for this makeup look, I too am loving a little bit of gloss recently. I feel like a whole new woman, I have changed my ways and I am really proud of myself for getting out there and trying something new! I have been obsessed with my Essence XXXL Nude Lipgloss in the shade 03 Taste The Sweets. It is the perfect hint of pink and the perfect amount of gloss to glam up your look. I also love using just gloss on a daily basis as I find that it is so much easier and quicker to apply. You don’t have to worry about liner or lippy, you just chuck it on and go. The best part about this makeup look however is that you can wear any lip colour you like. If I am feeling extra Autumnal, I will pair this with a deep lip. It works well with nudes, pinks, reds… anything! That is why I love it!

Final Look!

So here is a snap of the finished makeup look. I hope you enjoyed this post and congrats if you made it this far! Until next time my loves…
