Pretty Little Haul

Hey beauties!

I’ve noticed that I have been hauling a lot lately. It would appear I have lost all self control and my makeup addiction has gotten a little intense. I’m not even sorry.. So I have a few more items to share with you and I have held on to these items for long enough to be able to try them a couple of times and give you a little first impression on them all! I am quite proud of myself however as I haven’t been spending my money on random, spare of the moment items, but really investing in some of the makeup that I have had my eyes on for a while. I have also found that quite a few of these items are very much ‘beauty guru induced’, you know, the products that everyone talks about and loves. So are you ready? I don’t think you’re ready!

Makeup Geek Eye Shadows

That’s right. I finally found a way to purchase some of the Makeup Geek eye shadows! It’s been a long time coming if I am honest, everyone and their mothers rave about makeup geek eye shadows and I have been dying to try them. I purchased 9 shadows to fit inside this little z palette so that I could have my own little personalised palette. This little guy consists of six matte shades, one duo chrome and two foiled eye shadows.

I wanted to make sure I got a good selection of shades; warm, cool, matte, shimmery. A little bit of everything so I can create plenty of looks and keep this in my everyday makeup bag. I personally love the shades I picked out. The quality is amazing, so pigmented, creamy and just all round amazing. The foiled eye shadows are everything! I now fully understand the hype and completely agree that these are possibly some of the best eye shadows that I have tried, and they are so affordable! I now need the contour powders!

Zoeva Cocoa Blend Palette

So when I first saw this palette pop up in front of my computer screen, I had one thought… If I was a palette, this would be me. Everything about this palette describes my makeup style. There are some gorgeous warm/neutrals for every day wear, some amazing pops of colour that I would still probably wear to the corner shop, plus some smokey cool shades for those special occasions. It has everything I will ever need in a palette, not to mention that these eye shadows are really nicely pigmented. They are not as creamy as the makeup geek, but they are not far off at all! That deep chocolate brown shade gives me life on a daily basis.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette

Ok, so my love of makeup is no secret. I also have a long lasting relationship with chocolate. Put the two together and you have got something spectacular. This palette definitely lived up to my expectations. The colours are beautiful and wearable!  When it comes to higher end products, I would prefer to spend my money on something that I will get good use out of. Personally, I wouldn’t spend loads of money on a bright green lipstick, because I wouldn’t wear it! That is why I love this palette. It is beautifully neutral, it can be worn day or night plus it has just a couple of colourful shadows so that if I did want to experiment then I had the chance to, but it has mainly gorgeous wearable shades. The quality is amazing and it is just a gorgeous palette. Yay for my first Too Faced purchase!

Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer

Another product that has been raved about to the moon and back! I have this weird habit of purchasing hyped up concealers after a new concealer has come out, and everyone has moved on. As soon as I bought the Mac Pro Longwear concealer, this concealer came out. Now I have bought this concealer, the Makeup Forever concealer has come out! Personally, I don’t really care now as I have fallen in love with this concealer. There isn’t much to say as you probably already heard all there is to know. I will just say that this is possibly my new holy grail. Recently I have been having a problem with my concealers creasing under my eyes but this concealer stays smooth and flawless all day long. Not to mention that the fairest shade gives my a good ‘highlighted’ effect and it is so creamy and doesn’t dry out my under eyes. If you want flawless makeup, this concealer is the way forward!

Collection Foundations

Recently I was browsing the collection section and got the urge to try some foundations. I love the Lasting Perfection concealer but I haven’t heard great things about the foundation. I decided to try a couple of other foundations to see if they were any good. Lets just say curiosity got the better of me.. The first foundation is the Illuminating Touch Foundation. Personally, I don’t think this foundation is any good, it isn’t terrible, but there are so many better options to spend your money on. It just doesn’t blend in very well, it isn’t as illuminating as it lets on and it gives my skin a very strange, unappealing texture. I will say however that I really enjoy the packaging, it feels quite well made!

The second foundation was the Colour Match Foundation. I am just going to bite the bullet and be straight with you guys. Avoid at all costs. I feel like such a b*tch! I hate it when something doesn’t work out for me, but I really did not get on with this foundation, even though it was more luminous than the Illuminating foundation, it was straight up orange. When you buy a ‘porcelain’ foundation, it should not be orange. As for it ‘adapting to your skin tone’, it did nothing. It applied awkwardly just like the other foundation and even the packaging looks quite cheap and boring. I would just avoid this foundation and go for something like the L’Oreal Pro Matte!

Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara

It is very rare that I purchase the newest mascaras as soon as they come out, and honestly the packaging drew me in to this one. I have only used this a couple of times and I am a little bit drawn on my thoughts. I am not crazy about it, the formula is very thick and heavy so it doesn’t hold a curl. I do however like the wand, it’s very spikey and really gets into your lashes. I do find however that it is very easy to ‘over do’ and it can clump very easily. I am still not sure about this one, but I haven’t really been reaching for it. If anyone has any tips on how I can use it differently that may work for me, please let me know!

Zoeva Graphic Eyes Nude Reflection Eye Liner

I have been on the hunt for a bronze eye liner, just for a change. I found this really gorgeous, sparkly, golden champagne eye liner from Zoeva so I thought I would give it a go. I am really impressed with the pigment and it glides on so beautifully. It stayed on my water line pretty well, but it wasn’t ridiculously long wearing. I do however really enjoy this eye liner so far, and it hasn’t irritated my eyes!

Mac Mehr Matte Lipstick

So, I was looking for a warm nude pink shade as I love my nudes and I really wanted a quality everyday lipstick. I decided to pick this lipstick online as it looked as close the the colour as I hoped. The funny thing is, when I got this lipstick it was so much darker than I thought and it was like a warm mauve, something you would wear for Autumn. I can’t help but love it however! I am obsessed with Mac matte lip sticks and this shade really is beautiful. So even though I am still on the hunt for that perfect nude, I now have another gorgeous lip stick to add to my collection!

Morphe Brushes

I was so excited to try some morphe brushes after all the good words that have been spoken about this brand. I picked up a few brushes to try out; the M422 is a large flat shader brush, the M505 is a tapered blending brush and the M429 is a duo fiber blending brush of which I purchased 2 by accident! First thing first, this blending brush has become my best friend. It is so damn good and it feels so soft. As for the duo fiber brushes however, I find them to be a little too sparse. There isn’t enough density to them and the white bristles to me feel to long. They do blend well, but I just feel like if this brush had some slight adjustments it could be really good. Finally the flat shader brush is so beautiful, it is great for packing eye shadow on the lid and I have even used it for intense highlighting around the cupids bow, brow bone, tip of the nose and highest point of the cheekbones. I am impressed so far and I will definitely be getting some more Morphe brushes!

Zoeva 322 Brow Line Brush

DSCN1258.JPGThe final product in this haul/first impression is this brow brush by Zoeva! I have used this once and it is really nice. It gives nice precise lines without being too harsh, but it doesn’t make your eyebrows sloppy either. I love the short bristles as it is easier to work with. It is a really nice brush and I am actually enjoying it so far! Not to mention that this brush got delivered in the nicest little pouch, it was like a little vip brush! Cuties..

So that haul is over! Now I have read back I realise that yes, I do write a lot! If you got to this point, I don’t even know how you did lets be honest! Either way, I hope you enjoyed this post!

Until next time,

  1. Love the eye shadows! Such pretty colors. I’m glad I’m not the only one who wasn’t crazy about The Falsies mascara. It made my lashes so clumpy and there was no lengthening effect.

    1. I know, it was so dissapointing. What also annoys me is that I find the packaging so damn pretty, I just want to display it everywhere but the mascara itself is just not for me :(
