Birchbox Favourites

Hey beauties!

I hope everyone is having a lovely Tuesday! I have got the evening off work, so I am sitting down and relaxing for a change. I don’t know why I find it so hard to just chill out when I have a day off work, I feel like if I am not doing anything then it’s just another day wasted. Just me? Either way, I decided to take the day to relax, spend time with my family, have a nice soak in the bath and it’s done me the world of good. Even though I am still absolutely drained from my night shift and just an hours sleep, I was sorting through my bedroom like you do at 10pm, and I got some inspiration. I have got all of my Birchboxes laid out on my drawers as like I have mentioned before, I am a terrible blogger! I wanted to get my unboxing posts up on time for January and February, but here we are and I still haven’t done either. I have decided instead to do a collective post on my favourite items that I have received in my Birchboxes. Due to my new job, I actually had to miss out on December’s box which I was so devestated about! I feel like I was so late to hop on the Birchbox train, I started my subscription in November and I don’t know why I didn’t do it sooner as it really is so much fun and such a great way to try out products.

For today’s post, I wanted to share with you some of my favourite things I have received in my boxes. Some of these items you have probably heard me talk about a million times, but there is a reason I love them so much. I better stop rambling because I am already 300 words in and I haven’t even mentioned any products yet!! Verbal diarrhea strikes again…

Benefit They’re Real Tinted Primer

I’ve said it before and I will say it again. This primer is heaven. I have only ever owned a mini size of this, but I have nearly gone through 2 of them already! To keep this simple, I just love the extra bit of umph that this gives my lashes. It just thickens my lashes and separates them so perfectly, that when I apply my actual mascara, it looks so good. This little guy has worked it’s way into my ‘every single day’ makeup routine, whether I am slapping on a bit of concealer, mascara and lip balm or going flat out smokey eye and contour. I just can’t seem to use my mascaras without popping on a bit of this stuff on first.

Nuxe Masque Creme Fraiche de Beaute

Now this mask is another item that I have talked about before… a lot. I have nearly run out of it already as it is so good. I have combo skin at the moment and I find that when I apply this, the next day my skin has a healthy hydrated feel rather than being oily. It is such a great mask, and the best part is that I don’t have to wash it off. The smell isn’t going to be everyone’s cup of tea but I have grown to really enjoy it. It is quite a thick, very hydrating mask and it really does what it says on the tin. I was actually shocked that I got a full size of this which costs itself £19! I am definitely going to be repurchasing this as to me, it works and is worth it 100%.

The Balm Frat Boy Blush

So in my February box I received this blush from The Balm. Being the crazy makeup addict I am and not having tried any products from the brand before I was a little excited. One thing I was a little dissapointed with however was the size of this sample. Even though it is a powder so you could still technically get a fair amount of use out of this, it is so tiny I can’t fit any of my blush brushes in it! Obviously I made it work in the end! I really enjoy this blush. It is so pigmented but it still blends really nicely. I also love the colour, it is quite a deep warm blush but I think it is perfect for the autumn/winter months. I have really been enjoying this one!

Jelly Pong Pong Lighten Brighten & Waterliner

I have never heard of this company before but when I found this chunky nude eye liner in my box I was intrigued. I love nude liners especially on the lower waterline but the packaging seemed slightly cheap to me. It almost reminded me of those 50p pencils you can get off eBay that take about a month to ship from China. I, however, am a little bit in love with this pencil. It has amazing staying power on my lower waterline, it is a really nice off white shade and really opens up the eyes. So yeah, a little bit obsessed.. I also love how chunky this pencil is and I have surprisingly been choosing this one over my Rimmel nude liner.

Loc Eye Shadow Pencil

So, does anyone else love Tati? Aka Glamlifeguru on youtube? If you are familiar with her, and love her like I do then you will know about these shadow sticks. That girl couldn’t be more on the money if she tried. This shadow stick is creamy, blendable, so easy to apply and it doesn’t drag on your eyes either. Not to mention that I am just a little bit obsessed with this champagne colour. These pencils are only £8 and I personally want more! So worth it!

Spectrum Flawless Finish Brush

I don’t think I was even prepared for the happiness that overwhelmed me when I found a makeup brush in my birchbox. Not just any makeup brush though, a pink one! With blue and purple bristles. Soooo pretty! I was so obsessed with how soft this brush is and I pretty much used it on my face immediately. This brush is now my new favourite for setting my under eye concealer. It is the perfect shape, size and it is just an all round great brush. I have already been on their website and picked out my next buys!

Living Proof Restore Instant Repair

I have no clue about what to look for in a hair product. Hair is my weakness. On the day to day my hair gets bunched up in a scruffy bun and half the time I don’t even brush it! Don’t judge me okay.. I can’t tell you technical reasons on why I love this one, I can’t tell you what amazing things it does for my hair or why it works. I can only tell you that I love using this after I have washed my hair and my ends feel so much more softer. I have very dry and split ends but this just makes them split ends a bit softer, and I really enjoy that!

Parlor Smoothing Blowout Spray

My final item to make it into these favourites is this spray. I love using this spray again after I have washed my hair but I don’t normally blow dry it. I leave my hair to dry naturally but I find it just stops my hair from being so flat. Again, I have no clue about hair products and what makes them great or what good they do for your hair but I have just been enjoying it and I see differences when I use this. It doesn’t leave my hair with that weird texture that some hair products can either!
