I was sat in front of my dressing table the other night and just felt like experimenting with some of my new makeup. I never usually do really dramatic makeup, I mean I wear more than the average person and I don’t mind admitting that, but I never go all out. I was just sitting playing about and swatching as we do, and I came up with a look that I was a wee bit obsessed with. It is way more glamorous than anything I have come up with before but I really loved how it turned out and wanted to share it with you. This would definitely be a party look or something for a special event due to the pop of glitter, but I think it turned out alright… not to shabby eh!
My skin has been doing some strange things recently, and I think it is because I have been trying out some different foundations and skin care so I decided to go back to some old favourites that I shared in my Autumn Face Routine. The only thing I changed was my highlight as I have a new highlight that I have been loving!
So for my eyes I ended up doing a very soft cut crease with winged liner and then a glitter liner just to be a little extra. I started out with my Maybelline Creme De Nude Colour Tattoo and used this as my eye shadow base. I have heard a few people compare this to the soft ocre paint pot and I think it worked well to cancel out any discoloration and set a smooth base for shadows.
I then went in with my Makeup Geek Eye Shadows. I started off with White Lies (1) and applied this all over to set my base. I then took Peach Smoothie (2) and put this all over the crease for my transition shade. I also mixed in a little bit of Frappe (3) just to deepen it slightly. I then took a very find pencil brush and applied Frappe (3) and Tiki Hut (4) right into my crease to start the cut crease process. I didn’t want it too harsh as I just don’t feel comfortable with really sharp lines but I tried my hardest ha! I then continued to deepen the outer crease with Concrete Jungle (5) and Vintage (6). I then popped White Lies (1) in my inner corner and brow bone just to tidy everything up and highlight.
I originally was going to use Whimsical as my lid colour (the foiled baby pink shade) but I finally got my delivery from ColourPop so I was dying to try out some of the eye shadows as I have never used anything from the brand before. I applied Colour Pop Super Shock Koosh Eye Shadow all over my lid and I think this looked so pretty! It applied much more silver than I had hoped but it was so gorgeous and I really liked how it turned out. I have a whole review coming up of my ColourPop products and what I think but I do really enjoy this one!
I applied the Eyeko Fat Liquid Liner which isn’t exactly the best liquid liner in the world but it served it’s purpose. I then applied the Collection Glam Crystals Glitter Liner in the shade Glitz 1. It is a pure metallic silver glitter. I bloody love these liners as they have no fallout, are fully opaque and have a really nice applicator too. I applied this on the edge of my winged liner to make a double liner.
I didn’t apply lashes as my lashes have been really nice lately so instead I just applied my Urban Decay Perversion Mascara and moved onto my highlighter!
For my highlight I got a trio from ColourPop and used the Lunch Money highlighter and packed that baby on! The colour is perfect for fairer skin tones!
For my lips I tried out a brand new liquid lip, again from Colour Pop! I used the ColourPop Ultra Matte Liquid Lip – Tulle from the ‘It’s Vintage’ collection. Such a beautiful colour! I wanted to go deep but not a classic red shade, plus this will last all night long!
I hope you enjoyed the finished look, and until next time my lovelies…
