My Spring/Summer Face

It is only natural that as the seasons change, your skin care or your foundation routines change too. A lot of skin types can change with the change in weather, but also skin tones can change as you tan or as you spend more time out in the sun. Of course, Spring/Summer is the start of really bronze and glowing skin and I have found a new routine that I have been loving and going to recently as the weather has been warmer. I also want to share with you a few alternative products I have been using when I want to switch it up a little bit.

I always like to start with moisturised skin, and I have been making sure that my moisturisers have got some kind of spf in them to protect my skin from the sun. I have also bene making sure that I am priming my skin with a mattifying primer. I have been using the Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser Primer and putting this all over my skin especially in my T zone where I get pretty oily.

I have been really enjoying cream contouring and highlighting underneath my foundation recently. I t gives the most natural effect but still chisels out your features and looks really fresh. I have been using my ABH Cream Contour Kit in the shade fair. You can probably see which shades I have been loving! I have been really lightly highlighting my forehead, chin, nose and cheekbones with either the top left or right shade, and then using the bottom left shade to contour my cheekbones and forehead. I only do this lightly but I don’t blend them out straight away. I wait and blend all the lines out with foundation so that you get the full effect.

For foundation I have still been loving my Maybelline Matte + Poreless Foundation. I like using a matte foundation and then adding glow where I need it. All I do is dot the foundation all over my skin and then blend it with my RT sponge.

For concealer, it really is a no brainer that I will be using my Urban Decay Naked Weightless Concealer, and I only applying this under my eyes to highlight and on my eye lids to prime for shadow.

I have been loving two bronzers recently. The one I have been using the most is the L’Oreal Glam Bronze Cushion De Soleil which is a gorgeous cushion bronzer. I have been applying this with a stipping brush on my cheeks and forehead for a really glowy and bronze finish.

If I am feeling a little oilier I will wait until I have powdered and then apply my Barry M Dazzle Bronzer which is perfect for fairer skin tones. It also has a really nice sheen to it which makes it really pretty for the summer.

Next up we have highlight! I have been loving my cream highlight from ColourPop in the shade Smokin’ Whistles. This is a really pretty pink tone and it is just so beautiful! I apply this to the tops of my cheekbones and on my cupids bow. I have to be a little more careful when I apply my highlight at the moment as my skin is getting oilier, so I like to keep it minimal and only in areas that are going to make me look naturally glowy.

If I want a powder highlight or if I want to layer I have also been loving my Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop as it has that peachy tone which is perfect for the warmer months ahead.

Finally after I have got all of my cream products laid down, I go in with my Collection Primed & Ready Invisible Setting Powder and use my damp sponge just to press this into my T zone. If I plan on doing a powder bronzer etc then I will do the powder first and then go over with those products, but if I am using creams I always use them first and then set them. I also just like to set the areas that I will get oily as it leaves the rest of my skin looking really natural and glowy.

I hope you enjoyed my spring/summer foundation and face routine, until next time..
