My Autumn Foundation Routine

Autumn is my favourite season of the year. I love the cooler weather, the shorter days, the cosy nights in, Halloween, the beautiful scenery… it’s just heaven to me. I am also a big lover of fall toned makeup! I love myself a deep vampy lip or a copper eye as you may have guessed! With every Autumnal makeup look I do the same base makeup to go with it. I have finally mastered my perfect foundation routine that will go with every and all Autumn makeup looks! This has been my go-to for the last few weeks and I am dying to share with you how I do my full foundation, blush, contour and highlight routine!

I have recently found my all time favourite/go-to foundation! It is the new Rimmel Lasting Finish 25hr Breathable Foundation. This foundation is incredible and so affordable! The packaging resembles that Clinique 2in1 Foundation in the sense that it comes with that giant wand which I am very much in love with when it comes to applying my foundation. It gives my skin medium coverage and blends into the skin so tracelessly. I also love the natural/satin finish that it gives my skin as I can powder it down where I need but my skin still looks healthy. I will go into more detail in a review but just know that this foundation is amazing! I always apply my foundation with a beauty sponge and then blend it down my neck too so that I don’t have any lines of demarcation.

For my concealer I use my favourite Essence Camoflauge Full Coverage Concealer in the shade 10 nude and apply this underneath my eyes and then on any areas that I need extra coverage, for example around my  nose and mouth. I also use a damp beauty sponge to blend out my concealer as you don’t get build up of product and it reduces that cakey or streaky look.

Once I have blended all of my liquid products, I then go in with my Maybelline Matte Maker Powder and set only my t-zone. I use any excess that is already on my brush and just tap over my cheeks to take away that tacky feeling so that my bronzer etc blend seamlessly over the top.

Speaking of bronzer. I have been obsessed with my bronzer and contour shade from the Revlon Sculpt & Highlight Kit. I use mostly the bronzer around my forehead and cheeks and then use the contour shade lightly under my jaw and to sculpt out my cheekbones.

For my blush I have fallen back in love with the Sleek Makeup Suede Blush. It is the perfect apricot tone and it goes with any autumnal/warm makeup look!

For my highlight I have been using the classic Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop Highlighter and applying that on my cheekbones and cupids bow.

To finish everything off, I use my Essence Makeup Fixing Spray and then pat my face lightly with my beauty sponge to make sure my little fuzzy hairs are all down ha!

As an added extra, I just wanted to update you on my current brow routine as it is exactly the same every single day. I think brows are my worst thing to do and so I only use the Maybelline Master Precise Micro Brow Pencil in soft brown as it is so easy to use and gives such a precise application.

So that is my current foundation routine! I hope you enjoyed! If you have tried the Rimmel foundation I would love to hear your thoughts on it too as I haven’t seen too much about it. Until next time…

  1. I haven’t seen much on the foundation either, haven’t tried it but it looks good. I think the only thing in this I’ve tried is the blush and you’ve reminded me to try and dig it out as I used to love the sleek blushes but haven’t used them in a while. My current liquid foundation will need replacing soon so I might check out the rimmel one if I can find it in a store.

    1. For some reason every year I dig out my sleek blushes and then forget about them again! I don’t know why I keep loosing them as they are so good! I would definitely give the foundation a go, it’s beautiful! I have oily skin and I do get shiny around my t zone but as long as I blot or repowder it looks good as new, but I rarely bother with touching up and I can still get away with it! Worth a shot love ❤️

  2. I love Autumn season as well – it’s probably my favorite. It’s not too cold or too hot :) I’ve seen that foundation lately, but haven’t really heard anyone really talk about it. But it looks lovely on your skin <3

    1. Me too! I think it is one of the very few affordable powders that are not only light enough for my skin tone but also has a yellow undertone, I love it xx
