My Autumn/Winter Lip Picks

I love a good lipstick! Who doesn’t?! As much as I love these deep berry/purple tones, this year I feel like fall/winter lip trends are taking a turn into the more brown/terracotta/warm category. I am honestly all for the lip trends this year and I have a bunch of lipsticks that I think will be great editions to your makeup bag this season… now lets talk lipstick!

If there is one formula that you may have already guessed that I am loving, it is the Barry M Matte Lip Paints. Now, I have a couple of shades to share with you that I think are perfect for this time of year. First of all, we have the most nude shade out of the three. On The Scene is the most beautiful warm nude with a peachy undertone to it. I love this kind of a nude in the Autumn as it is rich and warm in a way that makes it a nude but it is still a bold shade. I can easily say that this shade has been my go-to this year! Next up we have the shade So Chic. Now this is one of those rich, warm browns that I was talking about. I think that these shades are really complimentary to any and every fall eye look. I am so in love with this shade as it reminds me of chocolate and that’s enough to make me love anything! ha!

Moving from mattes to glosses, I think that glosses are definitely more on trend this year and so many companies are bringing out more deeper glosses for this time of year. I have two of the Ps Love Saint Or Sinner Lip Vinyls in the shades midnight kiss and shadow me. Now, these glosses are probably my favourite glosses I have ever come across and they are only £2.50! They are incredibly rich in pigment and super shiny but they are incredibly comfortable and long wearing. I honestly cannot sing their praises high enough. They are almost like a liquid lipstick when it comes to how pigmented they apply and how rich they are, and even though they have a thicker consistency they feel so comfortable, they aren’t sticky in any way shape or form and they are amazing at staying where they are put! These are definitely my go-to’s this year! I love them!

My next choice is a classic and it comes in the form of a Mac Velvet Teddy Lipstick. I don’t have to talk too much about this lipstick as we all know that Mac make some of the best lipsticks especially the mattes, and this shade is the perfect brown, wearable nude. Perfect.

The Nyx Liquid Suede is my next favourite for this time of year. This shade runs a little cooler than the rest, but packs a punch in pigment and applies really smoothly. I have been trying out this formula here and there and even though I haven’t worn it through an entire day, I do feel like they are very comfortable to wear and give a nice satin finish to the lips. These are not transfer proof so it will rub off onto any cups or things like that, definitely not kiss proof either, but I am really enjoying this especially for evening wear.

Another gloss I have to share with you is the Nyx Butter Gloss in the shade Ginger Snap. I got this is a gift set of three, and I only really bought it for this shade in particular. This gloss isn’t as intense as the Saint or Sinners I talked about a second ago, and has more of a sheer glossy finish. This is perfect for every day wear and still has that deep chocolate shade to it which makes wearing a vampy lip much more wearable and daytime appropriate. I really love this gloss and it’s been getting good use this season.

Finally we have probably one of my most worn matte lipsticks and it is the Maybelline Colour Sensational Matte Lipstick in the shade Brown Sugar. This brown is such a gorgeous shade as even though it is very deep and vampy, it has more of a red tone to it which makes it incredibly wearable. It is definitely a bolder option, but if you are into brown toned lipsticks then I would highly recommend this one as the formula on these Maybelline lipsticks are phenomenal and probably the closest formula I have found to a Mac matte lipstick! Go grab yourself a dupe!

That sums up all my favourite lip picks for this time of year, I hope you enjoyed this post and please let me know any other recommendations you have as i’d love to give them a go too!
